Homework is passed out the first day of the week (typically Monday) and should be returned to school on the last day of the school week. Homework includes:
1. Spelling practice worksheets. The spelling words should be learned at home. Class time will not be spent learning to spell the words in the homework packet. Please work with your child to ensure they can read and spell each word. Spelling tests will be given on the last day of the school week (usually Friday).
2. Reading. Students should be reading for 20 minutes at least 5 days a week. During your reading time each day, please practice the Reading Fluency sheet I send home in your child's homework folder. Parents may count reading to their child as part of the reading time.
